Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust the Lord completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way.

Those of us who live in a more traditional family unit, husband, wife, children, maybe a pet dog, we generally don’t give a thought to how difficult life must be for the single mothers around us. We just don’t.

These days, there are a good many single mothers out there. Sometimes they’ve been widowed, more often than not these days, they find themselves bringing up their children, because of a marriage breakdown or divorce. Or maybe they just never married the father of their children in the first place.

Whichever way you cut it, being a single mother is a tough gig.

Now, my kids are all grown up these days, but I remember that bringing them up – especially during those teenage years – wasn’t easy. And there were two of us doing it together.

But for a single mum it’s even harder. On top of being a mother and looking after a household, there’s the problem of earning a living. The boss at work doesn’t always understand and so many single mothers find themselves completely at the end of their tether.

If you’re in that place – or maybe you know someone who is – here’s the message for you, or for you to share:

Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust the Lord completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way.

To the all the single mums, the message for you is this: God is in that place with you. He hasn’t left. He gets it and He’s walking that journey with you. With every step that you take, every decision that you make, just try to honour Him, try to live your life for Him and He will point you in the right direction and help you get through.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

I need to think of God more often, it would be an awesome thing to have Him direct my steps. You know I am going to put that on my pray list, because doing things my way just don’t cut it. More of Jesus’s way and less of mine, You’re a great thought provoker Berni, thank you.
